The invention proposes a method of eliminating residue from a flow of harvest containing fruit (G), said method comprising: feeding with the flow of harvest an inclined surface (4) that is arranged to allow said flow of harvest to travel over it, said surface including air passages (13, 14)； blowing air through said passages in order to eject residue from the flow of harvest as it is routed over said surface. The invention also concerns a residue elimination system for implementing such a method, a cleaning assembly comprising such an elimination system, and a fruit harvesting machine including such a cleaning assembly or such an elimination system.
