The equipment has a cover (14) to be threaded around a stuffed support (12) i.e. mattress, and a folding hood (16) interdependent of the cover. The hood is moved between a folded up position in which the hood is folded back against the cover, and an unfolded position in which the hood is adapted to protect a patient partly when the cover is installed around the stuffed support.
