A simple method and / or product for applying oxygen to a wound site to accelerate wound healing is provided. A composition comprising, for example, polycaprolactone and polyethylene glycol linked by a cross-linking agent, wherein both segments are covalently bonded is provided. The composition is foamed in the presence of a solution containing an oxygen-forming chemical such as hydrogen peroxide and a catalyst. The foamed composition retains oxygen, which is delivered to the wound, for example, to aid wound healing.
