PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external defibrillator, external paddles of which can be easily detached from a defibrillator main body and with which immediate defibrillation on a patient can be performed when it is used.SOLUTION: An external defibrillator includes: a pair of paddles 30, 40 each of which has an electrode part capable of touching the body surface of a patient and a defibrillator main body 20 to which the paddles 30, 40 are connected and which passes current through the patients body via the paddles 30, 40 to give an electric shock to the patients heart. An upper surface 211 of the defibrillator main body 20 is provided with a paddle rest 23, in recess parts 231, 232 opening upward, on which the paddles 30, 40 are attachably/detachably put, and a main body handle part 27 which is installed to project upward and can be gripped by a person who performs a defibrillation procedure. The height of an upper end 273a of the main body handle part 27 is substantially equal to the height of a part 23a, which is on the upper end of the paddle rest 23, between the recess parts 231, 232 and the main body handle part 27, or is lower than the height of the part 23a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1COPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT
