PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold that can use, with a very simple method, a sponge cake having physical properties unusable conventionally and that in addition can quickly make a large amount of roll cake type food, and also to provide a method of making roll cake type food using the mold.
SOLUTION: The mold for roll cake type food is characterized in that it has a hollow columnar shape with an opening in the cross section vertical to the longitudinal direction, and that the width of the opening is smaller than the major axis of the cross section. The method of making roll cake type food is characterized in that sponge cake-like food in a sheet form with the bottom face in contact with base paper is curved in a nearly cylindrical shape together with the base paper and inserted into the mold from an end to place the spongy food therein and that fillings are poured from a side opening or the end opening.
