A needle (121) is fixed tothe movable hub and has a patient end for piercing theskin at the injection site. An inner shell (171) is disposedwithin the outer shell and adapted to engage the pen needleassembly with a drug delivery pen (100). A firstspring (141) has a first end connected to the outer shelland a second end connected to the inner shell. A secondspring (161) has a first end connected to the inner shelland a second end connected to the hub. An adhesive layer(191) is disposed on the movable hub for contactingand raising the skin at the injection site.
