This disclosure relates to a computer-implemented system and related methodsfor thedesign, evaluation, and/or manufacture of protective patient footwear, such asshoes, braces,boots, casts, corrective footwear, and orthoses. The system includes suitablehardware, software,and related peripherals, which function to acquire data related to thepatient's particular footwearneeds, such as by image capture, including three-dimensional scanning. Thesystem may alsoacquire data through other sources of input, such as through one or moresensors for detectingvarious physiologic parameters associated with the lower extremity, or throughinput of medicalconditions, prior indicators, exam, analysis, lab results, or the like, suchas through medicalpractitioner input or other input protocols. The various inputs may besuitably processed togenerate output in the form of a design accommodation to design or modify theprotective patientfootwear, or in the form of one or more medical evaluations orrecommendations.
