An electronic endoscope 1 includes a distal end portion 11 of an insertion portion 2 which incorporates electronic components 54, 42, 43, 45, 46, a metal frame 20 which holds an observation window 22, an earth member 58 which is connected to a patient-side ground of an external device, and a static-protective member 60 which is disposed in the distal end portion 11 while being insulated from the metal frame 20 and is electrically connected to the earth member 58 to let static electricity E applied to the distal end portion 11 flow to the earth member 58. With the configuration, the electronic endoscope prevents occurrence of trouble, a fault, and the like in an electronic component incorporated in the distal end portion due to applied static electricity.
