PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which can reduce the quantity of an object exposed to an X-ray and make an X-ray detecting surface compact.SOLUTION: In an X-ray imaging apparatus for carrying out an X-ray CT image recording, under a state that an X-ray generator 13 for generating an X-ray cone beam BX1 is opposed to an X-ray detector 21 for detecting the X-ray cone beam BX1 applied to the object with the object (specifically, the image object OB) held between them, the X-ray generator 13 and the X-ray detector 21 are turned by 180o. While the X-ray generator 13 and the X-ray detector 21 are turned by 180o, the X-ray generator 13 is moved so as to move a turning reference point CP set on an optical axis CB of the X-ray cone beam BX1 on a prescribed ellipse for one round.
