PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate between an eyebrow region and an eye region of candidate regions of an eye in a stable manner regardless of whether or not a subjects face is inclined.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for discriminating between an eye and an eyebrow in which a computer acquires an image of a subjects face, detects a plurality of candidate regions having features of a human eye from the image, extracts a high frequency component in a space frequency of the image in each of the plurality of candidate regions, discriminates between a region that will correspond to the eye and a region that will correspond to an eyebrow for each of the plurality of candidate regions based on an amount of the high frequency component in each of the plurality of the candidate regions, and executes processing for outputting the result of the discrimination.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT【課題】被写体の顔が傾いているいないにかかわらず、安定的に、目の候補領域のうち、眉の領域と目の領域とを判別する。【解決手段】 コンピュータが、被写体の顔が写る画像を取得し、前記画像から、人間の目の特徴を有する複数の候補領域を検出し、前記複数の候補領域各々における、前記画像の空間周波数における高周波成分を抽出し、前記複数の候補領域それぞれの前記高周波成分の量に基づき、前記複数の候補領域の各々について、前記目に対応するであろう領域と眉に対応するであろう領域を判別し、判別した結果を出力する処理を実行することを特徴とする目と眉の判別方法。【選択図】図1
