A motorized cylindrical drum (34) is horizontally supported in front of the outlet (22) has a series of circumferential grooves (36) on its outer surface. A body (26) interposed between the outlet (22) and the drum (34) has a series of extrusion holes (28) extending between a first surface (30) of the body, which is arranged to close the outlet (22), and a second surface (32) of the body arranged adjacent to the drum (34). The extrusion holes (28) lead to the second surface (32) at the circumferential grooves (36). The pasta filata extruded through the extrusion holes (28) enters the circumferential grooves (36) and is carried by the drum (34) for a portion of its rotation, thereby receiving a moulding action determined by the opposite profiles of the body (26) and the drum (34).
