PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper capable of efficiently detecting the urine leaking out of an auxiliary absorber.
SOLUTION: The disposable diaper comprises a front surface sheet, a rear surface sheet, and a vertically long absorbent core located between the sheets. In the disposable diaper, first elastic members 6 are disposed in respective side areas S and S when the area between both side edges 41 and 41 of the absorbent core 4 in a crotch part C is divided into a center area M and the pair of side areas, each of which occupies one third of the width of the absorbent core. A second elastic member 7 is disposed out of each side edge of the absorbent core, and a urine detecting agent 8 is disposed in the area R1 between the first elastic member 6 and the side edge 41 of the absorbent core on either side of the disposable diaper. The first and second elastic members 6 and 7 and the urine detecting agent 8 are disposed along the longitudinal direction of the absorbent core, and do not cross one another over the whole length of the crotch part C.
