A harvesting machine including a frame (210), a rotor assembly (190) rotatably coupled to the frame (210) configured to move crop material, and a plurality of knives (208) movably attached to the harvesting machine. The rotor assembly (190) includes a plurality of spaced apart rotating blades, wherein one or more of the plurality of knives (208) extends into the spaces between the blades. Each of the plurality of knives (208) includes a knife body (294) and a cutting edge (296) having a plurality of teeth (298), wherein each of the teeth (298) includes a scallop or valley (304). Each one of the plurality of valleys (304) extends from the knife body (294) to the leading edge of one of the plurality of teeth (298), wherein adjacent valleys (304) are located on opposite sides of the knife body (294). The valleys (304) are lined with a wear resistant material (311) to increase the longevity of the cutting edge (296) and cutting ability.
