PURPOSE: An anticancer composition containing Asparagus cochinchinensis extract is provided to ensure remarkable cytotoxicity to liver cell line(HepG2) and to prevent and treat cancer. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating caner contains ethyl acetate fraction, methylene chloride fraction, or n-butanol fraction of Asparagus cochinchinensis extract as an active ingredient. The Asparagus cochinchinensis extract is isolated using water, alcohol, or mixture thereof.
