ABSTRACT The present invention stems from the recognition that bio compatible and bio degradable natural fiber polymer composite internal fixation plate for bone fractures and specifically to tibia bone fractures is the need of the hour. The natural fibers comprising the bamboo cellulose and sisal fibers are pre-processed prior to the combination with the composite polymer of poly lactic acid (PLA) in the twin screw extruder for the generation of the polymer composite filaments and loops that is to be fed into the fused deposition modeling (FDM) for the creation of the desired plate and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) thermos plastic for the creation of the bone. The features of the region of interest namely the fractured tibia bone is captured through the computed tomography (CT) scan wherein the scanned 2D cross sectional medical image is digitized, processed and re constructed through the CAD model involving the mimics platform for the construction of a 3D model involving a series of contours. The said 3D model is further converted to the stereo lithography file format after cleaning up the surface geometry for processing by the FDM for the generation of the internal fixation plate while the ABS filament is utilized for the generation of the tibia bone. The said generated polymer composite materials are subjected to a plethora of tests involving tensile, flexural, impact and in-vivo tests for detecting the tension, elasticity, stress and load bearing capability prior to the implant.
