Provided is a connector for an animal, the connector having a stopper mechanism for enabling or disabling a slide bar to be pushed back.A connector (SHL1-SHL7) for an animal is provided with: a hook section a shaft section (SL) which extends in a first direction (Ds) from an end of the hook section a slide bar (Sb) which reciprocates in the first direction to open and close the hook section a lock member (L1-L7) which is mounted around the shaft section so as to be capable of pivoting about the first direction and an operation section (Kn) which is connected to the slide bar and which protrudes in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The lock member includes: a cylindrical section (CL1-CL6) which has formed therein a circular cylindrical space for housing the shaft section so that the shaft section is capable of pivoting and a protrusion (Pr1, Pr4, Pr5, Pr6, Pr7) which extends by a predetermined length toward the hook section from a part of the hook section-side end of the cylindrical section.
