PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform best AEC according to a situation because the output format of the signal for the automatic exposure control is selectively switched to a detection signal or an exposure termination signal according to the installation convenience preference type and an installation convenience non-preference type.SOLUTION: A storage and search unit of a console 14 acquires a source ID of an X-ray source 10 and searches for and extracts a type corresponding to the acquired source ID from source information of a storage device. In the case of an installation convenience preference type in which convenience in connection between a source controller and an electronic cassette is preferred, a detection signal from a detection pixel of an FPD of the electronic cassette 13 is output from a detection signal I/F of the electronic cassette 13 to a detection signal I/F 26 of the source controller 11.
