The present invention relates to a novel peptide and a composition for preventing or treating obesity which includes the peptide, as an active ingredient, having greater activity for a receptor of glucagon-like peptide-1 and a receptor of glucagon than a natural type oxyntomodulin. The novel peptide of the present invention has effects of facilitating fat decomposition and inhibiting gastric emptying without side effects and enables food intake to be reduced which are not seen in the natural type oxyntomodulin. In addition, the novel peptide of the present invention has greater effects of activating the receptor compared to the natural type oxyntomodulin, thus can be widely used for treating obesity in a safe manner.본 발명은 글루카곤-유사 펩티드-1의 수용체와 글루카곤의 수용체에 대하여 천연형의 옥신토모듈린 보다도 우수한 활성을 나타내는 신규한 펩티드 및 상기 펩티드를 유효성분으로 포함하는 비만 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 신규한 펩티드는 부작용을 나타내지 않으면서도, 천연형 옥신토모듈린에서 나타나지 않는 음식물 섭취량의 감소, 위 배출 억제 및 지방분해 촉진 효과를 나타내고, 천연형 옥신토모듈린에 비하여 우월한 수용체 활성화 효과를 나타내므로, 안전하면서도 효과적인 비만치료에 널리 활용될 수 있다.
