A biocompatible synthetic macromer composition is provided which includes afirst polymer having stiffening linkages and at least one amine group, and asecond component having at least one amine-reactive group. The biocompatiblesynthetic macromer composition can be used as an adhesive or sealant in humanand/or animal medical applications.
