To provide an anti-clenching device capable of suppressing the acts of clenching and bruxism itself, superior in hygiene aspect and less discomfort even when worn.SOLUTION: The clench preventing device 10 is made of a thermoplastic resin and is mainly composed of a pair of right and left occlusal portions 11 and a connecting portion 12 integrally formed with the occlusal portion 11. The occlusal portion 11 is provided with an upper jaw tooth row engagement groove 13 which can be clamped freely on a part of the teeth of the upper jaw tooth row 21 and an upper jaw tooth row engagement groove 13 which can be fitted detachably to a part of the teeth of the lower jaw tooth row 22 A mandibular tooth row engagement groove is formed. The thickness of the occlusal portion 11 is set to such a thickness that the upper jaw tooth row 21 and the lower jaw tooth row 22 do not come into contact with each other and the closure muscle of the wearer is in a relaxed state when the clenching prevention device 10 is attached .
