Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Anlage zum Kultivieren von Pflanzen, die im Wesentlichen aus einer Kombination aus einem klassischen Gewächshaus und einem, vorzugsweise automatisch bedienbaren, Regal besteht. Dabei kommen besonders vorteilhafte kombinatorische Effekte zum Tragen, die den Volumennutzungsgrad von Gewächshäusern drastisch erhöhen und gleichzeitig den Personalaufwand zur Kultivierung von Pflanzen sowie zur Ernte erheblich reduzieren. Der Volumennutzungsgrad wird dadurch erhöht, dass anstelle der üblicher Weise vorgesehen Bodenbepflanzung oder Pflanztische im Gewächshaus ein verhältnismäßig dicht angeordnetes Regalsystem zum Einsatz kommt. Dieses Regalsystem weist vorzugsweise mehrere Längs- und Querreihen sowie mehrere Ebenen auf.
