It is suggested to provide a retainer (1) by holding at least a first surgical device which is preferably a dental implant (2) or an adapter (3) for a dental implant. Further the retainer is also adapted for holding a second surgical device which is pref-erably a healing screw (4). The retainer comprises a first (5) and a second body part (6). The first and the second body part are pivotable relative to each other. In a preferred embodiment they are pivotable around a pivot axis (7). The first body part includes a first support structure (8) for holding the first surgical device and the retainer includes at least one secondary support structure (9) for the second surgical device. The re-tainer is characterized by the first and the second body part of the retainer being pivotable in relation to each other to at least three pre-defined positions. In a first position the first and second surgical device are locked in the retainer. In a sec-ond position the first surgical device is removable from the support structure, but not the second surgical device.
