PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient system for adjusting the height of a patient support surface on a bed.SOLUTION: A system for adjusting the height of a patient support surface on a bed includes: a height adjustment actuator operable to adjust the height of a patient support surface above a floor surface a controller connected to the height adjustment actuator and including a memory and a user interface unit connected to the controller. The controller is configured to store a current position of the height adjustment actuator in the memory in response to a first input signal from the interface unit, and is configured to return the position of the height adjustment actuator to the position stored in the memory in response to a second input signal from the interface unit.
