PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extremely simple priming method suppressing air from remaining inside a blood treatment device when attaching a wet-type blood treatment device to a dry blood circuit to prime a blood extracorporeal circulation apparatus.

SOLUTION: In the blood extracorporeal circulation apparatus 1 which includes the blood circuit 10 having the blood treatment device 11, a blood removal-side circuit 12, a retransfusion-side circuit 13 and a bypass circuit 14, this method introduces priming solution to the blood circuit 10 from the outside and attains the priming. With the wet-type blood treatment device 11 attached to the dry blood circuit 10, the priming solution is introduced from the outside into the retransfusion-side circuit 13 to fill the interior of the retransfusion circuit 13 with the priming solution, and simultaneously initial filling solution is discharged from the retransfusion-side portion 11b of the blood treatment device 11 to the retransfusion-side circuit 13, and then the priming solution is introduced from the retransfusion-side circuit 13 to the retransfusion-side portion 11b of the blood treatment device 11.
