The present invention is related to a system for detection and/or monitoring of sleep stages in infants. Said system comprises detection means to detect and record at least one signal related to oral sucking behavior, arranging means to arrange said detecting means in an oral position of an infant, and, optionally, analyzing means to determine, from the recorded data, the sleep stage of said infant.La présente invention concerne un système de détection et/ou de surveillance des stades du sommeil chez les nouveau-nés. Ledit système comprend un moyen de détection destiné à détecter et enregistrer au moins un signal lié à un comportement de succion buccale, un moyen de configuration destiné à configurer ledit moyen de détection dans une position buccale chez un nouveau-né, et facultativement, un moyen d'analyse destiné à déterminer, à partir des données enregistrées, le stade de sommeil dudit nouveau-né.
