an augmented reality surgical navigation method that includes the step of preparing a multidimensional virtual model associated with a patient. The method further includes the step of receiving tracking information indicative of the patient's current view by the surgeon, including the surgeon's position relative to the patient and the surgeon's angle of patient view. The method also includes the step of identifying in the virtual model a virtual visualization based on the tracking information received, in which the identified virtual visualization corresponds to the patient's visualization by the surgeon. The method further includes the step of rendering a virtual image from the virtual model based on the identified virtual view.
