The invention relates to veterinary science. The aim of the invention consists in using a chimeric somatostatin-containing protein for increasing sperm production in stud livestock and roosters in the form of a preparation for injection with low adjuvant reactogenicity, thus making it possible to administer injections without causing discomfort to stud livestock and roosters. The preparation for increasing sperm production in stud livestock and roosters is in the form of a suspension of a chimeric protein with water-insoluble enzyme-inactive chloramphenicol acetyltransferase without 10 C-terminal amino acids, an amino acid spacer (Sp) n, where n = 1, 2, 4, and 8, and somatostatin-14 having the amino acid sequence AGCFWKTFTSC in refined vegetable oil with an addition of beeswax.
