Mit der bildgebenden Einrichtung (X) wird zumindest ein Bild in einem digitalen Format mit einer Vielzahl von Knochenfragmenten (F) erfasst (1). Daraufhin wird ein Segmentierungsverfahrens (2) auf das erfasste Bild zur Identifikation der in dem Bild enthaltenen Knochenfragmente (F) angewendet. Daraufhin wird ein Fragment-Matching-Algorithmus (3) auf die segmentierten Knochenfragmente (F) zum Berechnen von Ergebnisdaten ausgeführt.
