PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent flickers of a pseudo-color image using autofluorescence.

SOLUTION: An endoscope processor 20 comprises a reference light source 22, an excitation light source 23, a first signal processing circuit 35a, a filter processing circuit 36, a histogram operation circuit 37, and a pseudo-color operation circuit 38. By connecting the endoscope processor 20 and an endoscope 50, an image sensor 53 is connected to the first signal processing circuit 35a. The first signal processing circuit 35a and the filter processing circuit 36 form filter image data by removing noise components from an original image signal formed by the image sensor 53. The histogram operation circuit 37 and the pseudo-color operation circuit 38 then form pseudo-color image data on the basis of the filter image data generated when light is emitted from the reference light source 22 or from the excitation light source 23.
