PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of autotransfusion in an automatic hemodialysis apparatus applicable to the automatic priming without trouble and without forcing out air retained in an artery chamber in the apparatus with a blood chamber on the artery side, and capable of securely performing the autotransfusion without significant remodelling of the apparatus or without introducing a novel apparatus.
SOLUTION: The automatic hemodialysis apparatus comprises a dialyzer for purifying the blood, a blood circulation system with an artery side blood circuit for introducing the blood from a patient into the dialyzer and a vein side blood circuit for returning the blood flowing out of the dialyzer to the patient, and a dialysis solution supply/discharging system with lines for supplying/discharging the dialysis solution to the dialyzer. A blood pump is connected to the artery side blood circuit and the blood chamber is connected to both blood circuits. In the method of the autotransfusion in the automatic hemodialysis apparatus, the automatic autotransfusion is started after the blood chamber on the artery side is inverted upside/down before the automatic autotransfusion by the counter-filtration of the dialysis solution in the dialyzer after the automatic priming, automatic blood removal and the dialysis treatment.
