The invention relates to a pot for containing a rooting plug. The pot comprises a bottom section and a sidewall extending upwardly from the bottom section. Further, the pot comprises a support structure for supporting the rooting plug above the bottom section. In an embodiment, the sidewall is provided, at its radially inwardly facing surface, with a multiple number of projections extending radially inwardly forming the support structure.
