A second drug delivery system (110) includes first (112) and second (114) bar code scanners, first (116) and second (118) drug- container holders, and first (120) and second (122) pump assemblies. The first (second) holder is adapted to receive a first (second) (124,130) drug container having a dimensioned shape and to orient a positioned first (second) (126,132) bar code of the first (second) drug container to face the first (second) bar code scanner because of the dimensioned shape. In one application, the first drug is a sedative drug, the second drug is an analgesic drug, and the drugs are used during a conscious sedation medical procedure.
