Conjugates of a saccharide and a biomolecule, covalently linked therebetween via a non-hydrophobic linker and methods of preparing same are disclosed. Also disclosed are medical uses utilizing such conjugates. Glycosylation reagents for use in preparing these conjugates are also disclosed.
