PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection coil shape that minimizes the increase of an ac resistance component generated by a multi-layer winding of the detection coil, and to provide a high sensitivity magnetic detection device.SOLUTION: The detection coil is formed into a detection coil shape having the number of layers that are fewer than twice a number n of layers calculated by the formula (10), wherein a litz wire employing a strand having a minimum diameter is used for the detection coil.
