The integrated treatment and imaging catheter has an imaging device and a drug eluting balloon (“DEB”) assembly. A DEB assembly is a balloon assembly having its outer surface coated with a drug eluting coating. In operation, the DEB catheter is inserted into the patient's blood vessel and the vessel wall is imaged by the imaging device. After identification of the treatment area within the vessel, the DEB assembly is expanded to apply a drug eluting coating to the treatment area. After application, the treatment area and drug eluting coating can be re-imaged to determine whether the treatment area is fully coated.
