PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underground stem cutting device that is free from a nicked blade when cutting an underground stem, is free from getting hurt when touching upon a cutting edge, can be handled safely, is simplified in a structure, and is simple and economical by using commercial members.SOLUTION: An underground stem cutting device is configured by mounting a chain saw 11 to a truck 16. The truck 16 is provided with a swing member 18 having a rotary shaft 17 arranged horizontally and swingable in the vertical direction, and a fixing member 19 for supporting the rotary shaft 17. The chain saw 11 is installed to the swing member 18 by directing a guide bar 12 and a saw chain 13 toward the vertical direction.
