The present invention relates to a method for inducing an immune response to influenza virus, comprising administering to a subject in need of such treatment an effective amount of a glycolipid, thereby inducing a T cell response, and treating or preventing influenza infection and methods of identifying a glycolipid that will induce an immune response in a subject upon administration to the subject, the method comprising identifying the glycolipids isolated from a sample isolated from the subject, and which have been increased in the subject as a result of infection by an influenza virus. The invention also relates to a method for activating iNKT cells in a subject, comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of a glycolipid thereby activating iNKT cells in the subject.La présente invention concerne une méthode destinée à induire une réponse immunitaire contre le virus de la grippe, faisant appel à ladministration, à un sujet nécessitant ce genre de traitement, dune quantité efficace dun glycolipide, induisant ainsi une réponse des lymphocytes T, et traitant ou prévenant une infection de la grippe et des méthodes didentification dun glycolipide qui induira une réponse immunitaire chez un sujet lors de ladministration au sujet, la méthode faisant appel à lidentification des glycolipides isolés à partir dun échantillon prélevé chez le sujet, et dont le taux a augmenté chez ce dernier à la suite dune infection par un virus de la grippe.
