A stillage 1 adapted for use as a workbench comprises a storage compartment for holding building materials and tools and a cover (24, fig. 3) arranged over at least a portion of the storage compartment that is configured to be used as a work surface. The stillage preferably also comprises: a frame having horizontal lower frame members 2 defining a substantially rectangular base 3 and upright corner members 4 extending upwards from the corners of the base; a floor 8 extending between the horizontal lower frame members; and side panels 10, 12, 14 and 16 extending between adjacent ones of the upright corner members and upwards from the base, such that the storage compartment is defined between the base and the side panels, wherein the cover is a horizontal cover that is supported on the frame and forms a work surface.
