The present invention relates to a mixed extract of novel natural plants and, more specifically, to a composition for enhancing skin barriers which includes a mixed extract of Citrus unshiu markovich and Achyranthes fauriei. According to the present invention, the mixed extract of Citrus unshiu markovich and Achyranthes fauriei has a synergistic effect among raw materials by mixing the raw material a predetermined ratios and can manufacture a cosmetic composition or an external use skin formulation which includes an extract having the synergistic effect. The mixed extract of the present invention increases the expression of aquaporin-3, occludin, and cloudin-1 which are main factors enhancing skin barriers and suppresses the expression of TNF-alpha which is an aquaporin-3 expression inhibitory factor. Therefore, the composition for enhancing skin barrier which includes a mixture extract of Citrus unshiu markovich and Achyranthes fauriei is expected to be used as a cosmetic composition for enhancing skin barriers, which includes the mixture extract of Citrus unshiu markovich and Achyranthes fauriei as an active ingredient.
