FIELD: food industry.SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for treating a viscous mass that can be used in ball mills. Method comprises feeding the mass to be treated into a mixer, repeatedly circulating the mass to be treated by means of a displacement device from the mixer through a supply pipe to a grinding device and through a return pipe back to the mixer for reducing the size of said solid components in said grinding device, removing from the system at least part of the treated mass through a branch-off provided in the return pipe. When the required size of solid particles is obtained, a new mass to be treated is fed into the mixer and at least partly displaced by means of said displacement device and the treated mass is removed from said system. Grinding system for implementing the method comprises a mixer and a grinding device. Mixer is connected to the grinding device by a supply pipe and the mixing device which serves to displace the mass from the mixer into the grinding device.
