PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide hypopnea detection devices for determining a hypopnea event and/or a severity of hypopnea.SOLUTION: By a hypopnea detection device, a calculated short-term variance of a measured respiratory flow signal is compared to first and second proportions of a calculated long-term variance of the measured respiratory flow signal.
