The invention relates to proteins/peptides having immunogenic properties, such as obtained from Aedes mosquitoes, particularly from salivary gland extracts of Ae.aegypti or Ae.albopictus, using a method comprising - submitting said extracts to a two-dimensional electrophoresis, staining the gels with a protein staining agent, followed by a Western blot, wherein the gels have been labelled or coloured to specifically detect the proteins/peptides, - detecting IgG proteins on membranes with a pool of DHF patients sera.
