PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibacterial and antifungal artificial soil particle that can synergistically enhance the antibacterial effect of an antibacterial agent and an antifungal effect of an antifungal agent by taking the relation between the artificial soil particle and the antibacterial agent/antifungal agent for use in the particle and the combination of an antibacterial agent and the antifungal agent into consideration and has high safety.SOLUTION: An antibacterial and antifungal artificial soil particle 50 comprises a base 10 containing an antibacterial and antifungal substance and in the antibacterial and antifungal artificial soil particle 50, the antibacterial and antifungal substance contains a quaternary ammonium salt and chitin or a derivative thereof.
