PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tea extract which can exhibit various useful effects without deteriorating an appearance with dregs or precipitates, when added to an acidic drink, and contains a large amount of polymerized catechin divided from a tea extract.
SOLUTION: This method for producing the purified tea extract includes adjusting the pH of a polymerized catechin extract collected from a tea extract and having an enhanced weight ratio of a contained polymerized catechin to a non-polymerized catechin to an acidic region in the form of an aqueous solution and then removing water-insoluble solid contents from the acidified extract aqueous solution.
