The machine i.e. rotary swather (1), has a rake wheel rotatingly drivable around an upright rake wheel axis (3). The rake wheel is supported at a bottom by a tactile chassis (6). The chassis includes a sliding plate (7) for planar support at the bottom. The sliding plate is extended within an orbit, which is described by the rake wheel, preferably rake tines (5). The sliding plate includes a width transverse to a driving direction (8), where the width amounts to 50 %, preferably 70 % to 99 % of an inner diameter of the orbit. Sliding strips are provided at a lower side of the sliding plate.
