According to various embodiments of the present invention, an electronic device comprises a memory for storing profile information on a user； at least one first electrode； at least one second electrode； and a processor electrically connected to the first and second electrodes. The processor may determine at least one frequency of at least three signals for measuring a body composition on the basis of the profile information on the user, output a synthesis signal, in which three signals including a signal corresponding to the determined frequency and having different frequencies are synthesized, to the body of the user through the first electrode, receive the synthesis signal passing through the body of the user through the second electrode, measure a body impedance of the user on the basis of the received synthesis signal, and measure the body composition of the user on the basis of the body impedance. Also, other embodiments are possible.
