A prosthetic glenoid component has a body having aconcave bearing surface and a convex glenoid contactingsurface. First and second pegs extend outwardly from adjacentrespective first and second ends of the bone contactingsurface of the body, the first and second pegs have portionswith a first diameter at the bone contacting surface extendingfor a first length and a second diameter extending from thefirst diameter for a second length, the first diameter largerthan the second diameter. A third peg extends outwardly fromthe bone contacting surface intermediate the first and secondpegs. Thethird peg has a third diameter greater than thesecond diameter portion of the first and second pegs and athird length greater than the first length of the firstdiameter portion of the first and second pegs. Thethirdlength is less than the sum of the first and second lengths.
