The power assembly is removed from a power block chamber 1774 in the base and a plurality of terminals 1714 extend out from the housing of the base. The power cord 1712 can then be connected to the male power connector socket of the power ports in the base and the power assembly. When the power assembly is connected to a power source, such as a wall outlet, electricity can flow from the power assembly to the circuit board in the base, thereby supplying electrical energy to the mouthwash. The power assembly may have a conversion component that converts the power supply from alternating current to direct current.
