PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope insertion assisting device capable of easily and quickly enlarging the diameter of a nasal cavity while supplying a medical agent into the nasal cavity without imposing burdens on an operator or a subject.
SOLUTION: The endoscope insertion assisting device 100 includes a rod-like core body 1 and an outer cylindrical body 3 freely detachably covering the outer periphery of the core body 1, and by inserting both of the core body 1 and the outer cylindrical body 3 into the nasal cavity, expanding the nasal cavity and then taking out the core body 1 from the nasal cavity, the insertion part of an endoscope is guided by the outer cylindrical body 3 remaining inside the nasal cavity. Either one of the core body 1 and the outer cylindrical body 3 is provided with a balloon 5 whose diameter is enlarged by supply of a fluid. The balloon 5 is constituted of a first balloon member which is provided while covering the outer periphery of the outer cylindrical body 3 and is expanded to a prescribed fixed diameter, and a second balloon member which is provided on the outside of the first balloon member, is formed of a material softer than the first balloon member, and applies the medical agent to the inside of the nasal cavity.
