The present invention relates to a biodegradable fibrin based composition forinjection into osseous defects or voids, which can be the result ofosteoporosis,surgery, bone cysts, tumor removal or traumatic bone injury. In an aspect, theinvention relates to a multi-component system for an injectable bone voidfillercomposition, comprising: component (a) comprising fibrinogen; component (b)comprising thrombin; component (c) comprising at least one plasticizer; andcomponent (d) comprising calcium-containing particles having a diameter ofabout 200 µm or less, wherein the particles are selected from the groupconsisting of tricalcium phosphate, alpha-tricalcium phosphate, beta-tricalciumphosphate, calcium phosphate, a polymorph of calcium phosphate,hydroxyapatite, calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, and any combinationthereof,and wherein the amount of particles ranges from 10 to 45% w/w in respect to afinal clotted composition.
